What We Do

We impact our communities through service projects and initiatives that we develop based on what we are passionate about. We serve our time in collaboration with and support of other organizations and institutions that endorse what we believe in, including mission work, charity, health promotion, education, mentoring, and women's empowerment. We mentor young girls to be positive role models in their communities and to embody our core values. We support those who support concepts and ideas that we believe in. We empower each other and other daughters of Anacaona to unlock their full potential as women through friendship and united servanthood. We shine in darkness and we help to expose each other's light.

The Daughters of Anacaona (DOA) Foundation (Fondasyon Pitit Anacaona) aims to create a supportive community where women can experience growth, healing, and empowerment, inspired by the legacy of Anacaona, Taíno queen of Hispaniola (modern-day Haiti and the Dominican Republic).

The organization seeks to unite, uplift and empower women who have overcome adversity, by providing a space where they can support each other and engage in community acts of kindness.

Who WE ARE

"We are part of an endless circle, the daughters of Anacaona. We have stumbled, but have not fallen. We are ill-favored, but we still endure.”

We are a diverse community of women of all ages, races, ethnicities, and backgrounds, bonded by our love for God, people, and life. We are the legacy of Anacaona, Taíno queen, symbol of strength, resilience, and hope. As we triumph over circumstance, we also hope to spread our "joie de vivre" (joy for life and living) with everyone we meet. The DOA Foundation is here to make a difference in the world. We believe that when women come together to support each other, we are unstoppable.
