I dedicate this foundation as a tribute to the cherished memory of my beloved mother, Marie Mona Nabal. She was not only the love of my life but also my dearest confidant, a profound wellspring of inspiration, and the epitome of grace in the face of immense challenges. A genuine Daughter of Anacaona, she tackled life's adversities with an unwavering smile and an indomitable spirit. Her presence was a beacon of love; she touched countless lives through selfless acts of kindness, wholeheartedly giving of her time, service, home, resources, love, and boundless generosity.

 

She found delight in life's simplicity, drawing happiness from the modest joys of preparing family dinners, engaging with the elderly, and nurturing the children's choir at her church. Her unwavering encouragement urged her family, friends, patients, and myself to relentlessly pursue our dreams, in spite of the hurdles we faced. Her existence was a constant reminder to all never to relinquish hope in the face of adversity.

 

It is my hope that her legacy endures through the mission of the Daughters of Anacaona Foundation, Fondasyon Pitit Anacaona, perpetuating her ethos of boundless giving and living fearlessly, embodying a life lived to the fullest.
